I was a bit turned off by the price, but tried it anyway and I’m so glad I did. I love it and wear it all the time.

Fit: I’m 5’11” and around 220 lbs and bought this in large. I wear medium to large in most things, but too many pull-ups have made it so a lot of things are tight in the arms and back, so t-shirts I tend to go with XL. This fits perfectly. It doesn’t feel snug in the back when I reach forward, and the sleeves don’t ride up. There’s plenty of room inside for layers and does sometimes get bulky in the car, although as it breaks in that’s becoming less of an issue.

Warmth: I really like the quilted insulation. It’s not too warm to wear around the house, although if I’m working on something it usually has to come off. The first time I wore it outdoors I went out for a hike in the rain. It’s a Rain Defender, what could go wrong? Well, nothing went wrong. It was 34 and rain/snow/slush and I wore this over a t-shirt and was perfectly comfortable for an hour, hour and a half. Since then I’ve worn it in rain and snow and wind, down to single digits and in most cases a t-shirt is adequate underneath. If I’m just standing around, I need an extra layer.

Water repellent: As mentioned above, it’s been good in light rain and in snow. Snowblowing and shoveling it’s the bee’s knees, although it can be a little warm if I don’t pace myself. It’s not a rain coat, so I wouldn’t expect it to keep me dry in a downpour, but it’s kept me dry so far.

Hood: Oversized so it fits well over a hat. In a strong wind it can blow off, but most of the time it stays put just fine.

Pockets: I like the zippered chest pocket for my phone, keys, or wallet. The side pockets are pretty loose and I would not trust them to keep things secured. In fact I lost my keys in the snow while starting the snowblower one day. But my biggest beef is the little pocket inside the right hand pocket. I like that it exists, but it’s so open that my hand always goes into it instead of the main pocket, and I have to consciously get my hand in the right one. It’s not bad when you’re just putting your hand there to warm up, but when you need to stick something in your pocket real quick, it wants to go into the wrong one.

Durability: It’s still too new to comment on the durability, but I don’t treat it with kid gloves and so far there are no signs of wear.

Zipper: YKK zipper, so no issues there. It zips up just a little bit higher than “normal”, which is really nice for keeping the cold out. The pull is a good size for use with gloves.

TL/DR: Excellent sweatshirt that I would buy again. My only beef is with the side pockets that aren’t very secure, and with that smaller inner pocket on the right that my hand always goes into instead of the main pocket. But overall I’m very satisfied. I wear it around the house and as a coat.

The product description in the title is that it is Sherpa lined, it is not. The actual product which matches the description is the Rutland thermal lined. Which is ranked below Sherpa lined for warmth.

What size do i order i??m a female i go wears a large what size do i get in men??s?
Answer:

I ended up ordering size large. I like my work wear to be roomy, for ease of movement & for layering for warmth. I??m 5??6 ?? & about 155 lbs. This sweatshirt is a little big on me, but comfortable. I??m sure I could have ordered a medium & been fine, as the material gives a bit, but I intend to wear it as a jacket. I woul??

Dose this hoodie have the rain logo on the sleeve
Answer: The Rain Defender Quilt-Lined Full-Zip Sweatshirt does have the Rain Defender logo on the left sleeve.

Is it actually waterproof?
Answer: This style is not waterproof. This style will be water repellent.

Is this a heavyweight or mid weight sweater ?
Answer: The 10.5-ounce, 50% cotton / 50% polyester material used for the outer shell of the sweatshirt is considered to be a midweight style. Because of the quilted lining, it may feel a little heavier than Carhartt’s midweight sweatshirts without a lining.

Is this sweater con put in washin machine
Answer: Yes. This sweatshirt is machine washable.
