I bought this shirt to wear backpacking, and I??m really putting it to the test. Sometimes I wear it for 2 weeks at a time without washing it, all while hiking and wearing a pack.
It??s held up great so far. I love how light the fabric is. The shirt keeps me cool in hot weather and serves as an adequate base layer in cold weather.
There is some discoloration from sweat, but nothing too bad.
I love how the sleeves roll up and down. It feels very secure and looks good.
The shirt seems like it??s going to live forever even thought I??m asking a lot of it. There are no rips in the fabric despite the fact that I??ve worn it through many forests and scrambled up and down rocks. There is plenty of room in the shoulders for movement.
I am a 5??8?? female and I weigh 180. I ordered a men??s medium because I wanted it to be big. I used to own a small and it was still big on me, but I like them this way so they are very airy. I will attach a photo.

I purchased 4 of these shirts, two at a time. The first two seemed perfect for what I was wanting… so I ordered two more. That makes 4 shirts. I also purchased 4 other Columbia shirts, made from a different fabric, so that gives me 8 fishing shirts to rotate throughout the week. It’s been only one season, a few months, and I’ve washed these shirts in cold water Tide, medium heat to dry a total of 6 times each, and they look like they are 5 years old already. The color has faded, the neck has horrible staining (only cheaply made fabrics do this). You can see by the photo that the color and fabric appear old, tired, faded and worn out already… the color used to “POP” when they were new… but after only 6 washes they look faded and the “puckers” which normally appear on all shirts have that worn out look, like my other shirts got after YEARS of wearing and washing them on multiple hot summers. I hope to get some sort of adjustment from Columbia as this must be a mfg mistake on the material or dye lot? Who knows, but these shirts just did not stand up to any sort of wearing. They are now “donation quality” shirts…. and it’s too late to return them.
Customer Questions & Answers
What size is this shirt?
Answer: XS
Is this shirt of the same fabric as the Silver Ridge?
Answer: I don’t know but the shell is 100% nylon of the Bahama whereas the Tamiami II is 100% polyester with both having 100% polyester mesh. The Bahama and Tamiami II do feel different with the Tamiami feeling much more thinner and delicate.
Hello, Is this fabric thick or thin?
Answer: The fabric definitely isn’t thick. Relatively thin but not too thin in my opinion. I own over a dozen of these as they’re perfect for my needs.
I have long arms, Do these shirts have a longer sleeve? Some Shirts you have to roll up because just too short. Anyone know what I mean?
Answer: The sleeves of this shirts are very long, you wouldnt have any trouble with that.
Does this shirt tend to be on the smaller size? my husband usually wears an xl, sometimes l. i don’t want this to be too small.
Answer: Based on reviews about being oversized, bought a size smaller (medium rather than large) and the medium fits almost perfectly. I’m 6’2″, 185 lbs.
