First off the shirt is great quality. It’s a bit thicker than a “traditional oxford” think thin flannel. However, I live in the south-eastern USA and have worn this shirt recently is 95+ degree weather with high humidity and it felt fantastic.

I saw a few people saying the shirt wrinkles easy, indeed it does. A good remedy is to wash the shirt on a delicate cycle with cool/warm water. Avoid hot water and high heat drying. I have a delicate cycle on my dryer. If you’re having trouble with the shirt still wrinkling, I’d recommend drying the shirt for around 5-ish minutes on a normal cycle and hang dry the rest of the duration. With a little bit of care, this shirt can turn out crisp and look great.

I own a number of button-down oxfords from Vineyard Vines, Ralph Lauren, and Brooks Brothers. I’d highly recommend this shirt against those competitors. While the patterns are traditionally a bit more “casual” the design, wear and feel of the shirt is as good as any.

Top Critical Review

Frankly, I am a bit disappointed in this shirt. When it arrived, I took it out of the box and immediately rechecked the Amazon order page ! The actual shirt was MUCH darker than the image on Amazon’s site. I had to check the designs on the shirt and the webpage to make sure they matched. I had meant this to be an early Summer / early Fall shirt, but it’s more appropriate as a Winter one. It looks as though the contrast on the Amazon image has been tweaked to make it easier to ‘read’ the pattern, lightening the shirt’s colors.

Also, I deliberately bought a 3X size, expecting it to be a bit roomy. It is not. The sleeve is fine, but the waist is too tight. The tail is about 2 inches too short. I’m a six foot, 280 pound, pear-shaped man; 3X is the right size for me. I kinda wish I’d gotten a 4X now.

The construction of the shirt is just fine. Nice material with a good hand; very comfortable. But it’s a case of ‘almost, not quite’.

Customer Questions & Answers

Held up to a light, can you see through a layer of this fabric?
Answer: What a great question! Yes, if you hold it directly next to a light, you can see through the shirt. The only part that seems thicker is the collar’s bottom rim. The shirt is 100% cotton, but definitely on the thinner side. The first thing you see on the Goodthreads label is “Made in China.” Hope this helps.

I like a large but the sleeve are normally to short?
Answer: I purchased a large and it fits well…nice shirt

What is the sleeve length?
Answer: It depends on the size. Click on the size chart and it gives you the sleeve length going by the corresponding size.

is the pattern woven or printed?
Answer: Both, depending on the type of shirt…

Could this handsome buff plaid shirt be considered a cotton flannel for our living in “Winter”ville!
Answer: This particular plaid shirt is medium thickness. I would consider it good for Fall or Spring temps. It would need to be a little thicker for me to consider it a Winter flannel. However, if you wear it over a thick T-shirt, and with a warm coat, you would probably be okay in the Winter.

I like a large but the sleeve are normally to short?
Answer: Are you asking if the sleeves run short? They seem to be right in the middle (not short nor long).

Would the XL be long enough to fit a 6’5″ man?
Answer: Yes

Is this black and red or black and blue?
Answer: It??s black and red

I’m 48″ in the chest, 6’3″ tall. would the xxl be a good fit?
Answer:

I’m a 4″4 chest and got extra large – I’m 5′ 9″ – there was some shrinkage after washing – the shirts still fit ( a little shorter in body length) but they don’t run as large as my LL Bean ones – I think the LL Beans ones are better made but much more expensive – P.S. I also got a red plaid instead of the Buffalo Plaid??
